Scholarship Information for New Conductors

The Wind Band Institute will be offering two full tuition scholarships (value $398 each) for junior high and high school conductors completing either their first, second or third year. WBI recognizes the importance of professional development during these formative years of a teaching career.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Currently employed full-time teaching wind band
2. Completing either first, second or third year of teaching

Application procedure:
1. Submit a brief resumé of undergraduate band activities and accomplishments. This resumé should include name, address, phone number and email address.

2. Submit a maximum 700 word essay answering the following two questions:
Briefly describe your philosophy of wind band music education?
And secondly, please share how you imagine this experience will help accomplish your professional goals?


3. Applications must be received by May 16, 2008 and may either be or 'snail mailed' to Wind Band Institute, Scholarship Application, PO Box 162, Hawley, MN 56549-8982.

Application materials will not be returned. Those awarded scholarships will be notified by May 23, 2008. Applicants are responsible for their own transportation, housing and meals.
